Matt Crow

Growing up as a surfer on the West Coast, Matthew always had a love for the water. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1996, working across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans as well as the Caribbean.

In 2007, while stationed as a helicopter rescue swimmer in San Francisco, Matthew befriended renowned tattooer Henry Goldfield at the Cow Palace Tattoo Convention. This serendipitous meeting reignited his love and reverence for his grandfather’s tattoos. His grandfather, also in the Coast Guard, had been heavily tattooed by the legendary Sailor Jerry himself. Shortly thereafter, Matthew found himself undergoing a somewhat traditional tattoo apprenticeship at Goldfield’s Tattoo—all while serving full-time in the Coast Guard. Cutting his teeth on sailors and soldiers across the country, his goal was always to retire from the Coast Guard and one day open his own shop. And here we are.

For Matthew, tattooing isn’t just about the artwork—it’s about the human experience. When you get tattooed by Matt, you leave with a new friend and a tattoo you can be proud of—one that will stand the test of time.

A family man through and through, when Matthew isn’t tattooing, he and his family are always on the move. Whether biking, snowboarding, surfing, or practicing jiu-jitsu, they’re ready for wherever the action takes them. With roots in California, Washington, Oregon, and Montana, the Crows are down for anything—whether it’s the ocean or the mountains.

Becky Louise

Becky grew up in England until nearly three years ago when she moved to the U.S., landing in Hailey, Idaho, where she quickly fell in love with mountain life. Growing up in the countryside of southern England, she always had a deep appreciation for the outdoors—something that continues to inspire her artwork to this day.

Always artistic, Becky knew she wanted a career where she could express herself through her art. After spending most of her math and English classes doodling in school, becoming a tattoo artist felt like the perfect path. She pursued a fine art degree in college while simultaneously completing her tattoo apprenticeship.

Starting out as a traditional tattooer, Becky’s style naturally evolved into a more delicate approach while working in Oxford. There, she discovered her love for tattooing anything nature-related, drawing inspiration from botanical illustrations and the flowers she encounters on her hikes.

After four years of tattooing, Becky made the move across the pond at age 25 to start a new chapter in Idaho. She also spent some time living and tattooing in Salt Lake City before ultimately returning to Hailey, where she now calls home.

Nathan Hailey

Nathan is a Hailey local who grew up playing music, drawing, and painting. After spending over a decade away from the valley working in architecture, he felt it was time for a change. The rigid constraints of the field no longer suited him, and he knew it was time to return to his old stomping grounds.

Tattooing had always been something he wanted to pursue, but he wasn’t sure how to go about it. As fate would have it, Crow had been tattooing in the valley for a few years at his shop, Mountain Rose Tattoo, and it was time for him to pass on the deep-rooted tradition of tattooing to a worthy local artist.

Nathan’s capable hands took to the craft quickly. He started out in a traditional sense—painting flash, learning about machines, and doing all the things a proper apprenticeship in this day and age requires.

Aside from tattooing, Nathan loves skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, hiking, and spending time in the outdoors—especially if there’s a body of water involved. Basically, all the cool shit the Wood River Valley has to offer. Put him on a dance floor, and he’ll groove all night.

Nathan also plays multiple instruments in a few different bands and enjoys making music with friends. In 2024, he became a father and loves spending time with his little man and family.

To Nathan, tattooing is more than just an art form—it’s an opportunity to express himself creatively and connect with people on a personal level nearly every day. In his words:

“Watching a client’s eyes light up when they see their finished tattoo is the best. Tattooing stuff I like is awesome, for sure, but the most important thing to me is tattooing a design that my client is excited to wear forever.”

Nathan’s roots are in Traditional Americana tattooing with coil machines, but he has spread his wings and enjoys working in several different styles—so bring on the ideas!
